The menu was misleading, giving me the impression that the "return back to your house" option simply starts you back at the last chapter you started from, and hence to do so would be erasing all that I had worked for. I assumed that if not the Jizo statues, I'd have to wait until the next chapter for the save to function. I scaled as much of the available game as I could after first being sent back to the house for an auto-save.
Seriously, just let the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ statues act as Ad-Hoc save points, such would at the very least usurp said glitches. It wasn't even the act of "turning off" my game that did it, my game glitched some 6+ hours in and then good as gone! And there went 6 hours of my life, the ejoyment experienced now inverted.
